About Beth

Growing up, Beth was in awe of those who created timeless beauty in both fashion and film. With a unique eye for creative concepts and a drive that never wavered, Beth was determined to make hair and makeup artistry her career. After graduating from cosmetology school, Beth trained with one of the last true hair dressing masters of a bygone era. While working under Dutch born, Jan Timmerman, he taught her skills that few hairdressers still possess.

“I was so honored that Jan took me under his wing and showed me the art of true hair sculpting. He taught me styling that requires very little product but holds up beautifully in the harsh elements of a hot movie set or a humid outdoor commercial shoot."

After her talent was noticed at a stateside hair show, Beth was offered and assisting job in London, England, in 1983, Beth sold everything she owned, and was catapulted into the PUNK - INFLUENCED CULTURE of London’s Hair Industry. After completing what should have been a two year training program in less than six months, Beth became and advanced haircutting instructor for Jingles International and traveled the world.

“I lived and worked with the artistic community: Rock Stars, Photographers and Hairdressers in 1980’s London and New York. This was an era that has forever changed pop culture throughout the world and I was so unbelievably lucky to have been a part of it”.

In 1985 Beth was recruited by a young Austrian born hair product developer named Horst Rechelbacher. As Creative Director of Horst’s new company Aveda, she helped develop education and traveled the world teaching other hairdressers about the world’s first natural product line.

“Horst changed the hair industry forever. I was lucky to have him as a friend and mentor. He inspired me to open my own salon and keep striving to be the best”.

In the years that followed, Beth opened an incredibly successful salon in Chicago and co-founded American Crew Hair Products for Men. After helping a friend do hair for a fashion shoot in Chicago, Beth found another new passion.

“I love combining all that I have learned throughout my career to create artistry that evokes the feeling of old Hollywood glamour infused with the ease of modern beauty. I feel comfortable in knowing while workin on set, I don’t need the crutch of Digital enhancement, making my clients vision come to life on set, is truly rewarding”.

In 2013 Beth moved to Austin, Tx., to try her hand in the film industry. After getting into IATSE 484 she was asked to Key in the hair department of the Robert Rodriguez Series, Dusk Till Dawn Season 1. Since then, she has worked, and Department Headed quite a few movies and Tv Series. Traveling is still a passion, and working in the fashion industry is still an exhilarating experience.
